As the New Year begins, we all ponder what our goals are, where are we steering our course to or from perhaps? This year I have many items on my goal list, some are personal, like fitness and health; taking a little more quality time for family and ensuring work-life is balanced. I definitely need to put my handmade paper and art work back on the agenda as I am missing it a lot! As we are already well into a third of our first month of the year, I have already attained some big goals and am on track for future endeavours. The start to our year was a lot of hard work that paid off well and in reflection, our years of hard work have paid off nicely. Then something comes along to make you realise just how easily that can be taken from you. Sadly, I have also witnessed sadness in friends and family that is heartwrenching. My point? Life is a gift to cherish each and every moment of the day. As good as our goals can be and our prizes great, none are more precious than a moment in time to help someone in need, hug a person who is in tears, offer a meal to someone without, or give some other random act of kindness to another who you do not even know. These are the moments that are the greatest in our day and we should all aspire to do more of these and our hearts would be overflowing with more happiness and contentment than any other award. May the year ahead be wonderful in every way, peaceful every day and most of all, may contentment fill your cup with what you have, what you can offer and what makes you (and most of all others) smile or be happy. May your goals be reached; may you never tire to aspire to them and may every day be a step of gladness and appreciation on your journey to those goals!

The inset picture is a masculine card I gave today which is made on handmade recycled paper and NT bush grasses (base card), then highlighted with another colour handmade paper (pale green), then the brown is handmade pure dwarf papyrus grass paper with a photo of one our local inhabitants.
